Has anyone got any feedback of how the Dundowran Public meeting went, how many attended and the issues raised and decided on? I attended a party in Dundowran last night, and most of the locals that were there actually strongly supported the idea of a Tavern and shops, but thought the 600 sq mtr building blocks were too small. I was quite surprised that almost all supported the developtment in general, because from what I read on all these blogs I was lead to believe something quite the opposite.
The Fraser Coast Free Clarion is an unbiased news watch and local government report. The Free Clarion is designed to keep Fraser Coast residents informed and give them an alternative news source and voice.
The Free Clarion will not manipulate opinion by selective reporting of a story. Nor will it exercise its power to control political candidates, sitting politicians or advertisers.
I personally believe in the principles of Freedom of Speech and Right of Reply while retaining the Free Clarion's right to reject contributions that are untruthful, inflammatory or defamatory. Letters and comments published on this site are not necessarily the opinion of its editor.
I will also ensure the Free Clarion's reporting, commentary and contributions embody the Media and Arts Alliance - Australian Journalists' Association Code of Ethics 1996.
I am a journalist and Fraser Coast resident who passionately believes the region could be better served by its daily newspaper.
I decided some time ago to stop buying the Chronicle because I didn't believe the standard of reporting, writing, grammar, general knowledge and editing was worth the cover price. I now only read it if I am having coffee at a cafe or at the Library. These occasions only serve to validate my original decision.
So instead of pulling my hair out in frustration, I decided I should do something constructive like start this Blog on the people's internet. Something I can now add to my list of interests. Join me for the ride.
